<p class="Paragraph">To automatically continue a series using the assumed completion rules, choose the <span class="T1">AutoFill</span> option after opening the <span class="T1">Series</span> dialog.</p>

<p class="Paragraph">Set the direction of automatic creation in this area.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This option creates a downward series in the selected cell range for the column using the defined increment to the end value.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This option creates a series running from left to right within the selected cell range using the defined increment to the end value.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This option creates an upwards running series in the cell range of the column using the defined increment to the end value.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This option creates a series running from right to left in the selected cell range using the defined increment to the end value.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Head2">Series Type</p>
<p class="Paragraph">Define the series type in this area. Choose between <span class="T1">Linear, Growth, Date </span>and <span class="T1">AutoFill </span>.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Create a linear number series using the defined increment and end value.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Create a growth series using the defined increment and end value.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Create a date series using the defined increment and end date.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Use this option to form a series directly in the sheet.</help:help-text> The AutoFill function takes account of customized lists. By entering, for example, <span class="T1">Jan</span> in the first cell, the series is completed using the list defined under <span class="T1">Tools - Options - Spreadsheet - Sort Lists</span>.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">AutoFill tries to complete a value series by using a defined pattern. The series 1,3,5 is automatically completed with 7,9,11,13, etc. The series 1,3,6 with 2,4,7,3,5,8,4,6,9, etc. Date and time series are completed accordingly, for example, after 01.01.99 and 15.01.99, a 14-day interval is used.</p>
<p class="Head2">Time Unit</p>
<p class="Paragraph">In this area you have the possibility of choosing time units <span class="T1">day, weekday, month</span> and <span class="T1">year</span>. This area is only active if in the <span class="T1">Series type</span> area the <span class="T1">date</span> option has been chosen.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Use the <span class="T1">Date</span> series type to create a series using seven days.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Use the <span class="T1">Date</span> series type and this option to create a series of five day sets.</help:help-text></p>
